SALAPARUTA

Salaparuta is located on a slope in the province of Trapani at some 200m asl. It totals about 2.000 inhabitants. The Chiesa Madre with a fine 1400’s statue of Saint Catherine is the main building in town.

Archaeologic ruins of Salaparuta – The archaeologic site, standing 385m asl, comprises the ruins of the Arab hamlet Menzil Salalh (literally Hamlet of the Lady), later a fief of the Paruta family and destroyed by a violent earthquake.
