MARZAMEMI
Marzamemi is a fishing village in the
Siracusa’s southern coast, nestling atop a small promontory few metres asl. In
the second half of the 19th century a harbor was built near the
already existing tuna-fishery and the 1600’s villa of the Princes of
Villadorata.
The area is endowed with spots of either
naturalistic and historical interest, such as the Pantano Morghella,
that is allegedly the site of the ancient city of Ichana going back to the 6th
century BC.
