Ficarra is a small town in the province of Messina standing at 450m a.s.l. between the valleys of Naso and Brolo rivers. It has a population of about 2,200.

The main building is the Chiesa Madre dedicated to the Annunciation, housing numerous pieces of art, like a 1500’s marble polyptich depicting the Madonna and Child with Christ and the Saints, a 1500’s marble stautue of the Virgin of the Annunciation by Antonio Gagini and a 1500’s marble ciborium.

The tour of the town also includes some minor churches, the remnants of the 1500’s convent of the Minori Osservanti, the Benedictin Chiesa della Badia, the charming Parco della Rimembranza, just off town, and the ruins of a medieval castle.
