Mirabella Imbaccari is a city of nearly 10,000 inhabitants located on the slopes of the Erei Mountains at a 518m height. It was founded in 1610 by Giuseppe Maria Paternò, the Baron of Raddusa, who named it after his second wife. It was successively ruled by the Trigonas and the Princes of Biscari.

The 1600’s Palazzo Biscari, built at Giacinto Paternò’s behest and rebuilt following the 1693’s earthquake, and the Mother Church, dedicated to Maria Santissima delle Grazie, are the city’s main buildings.
