SOMMATINO

Sommatino is a city of about 8,500, located in the province of Caltanissetta at some 360m a.s.l. The earliest record on the city dates back to the 14^th century; at the time the noble De Portos settled in this area and undertook the construction of a village. The modern town planning reveals scanty signs of the medieval urban design.

The best attractions of the town are the 1700’s Mother Church and the Town Hall, dating from the 19^th century.
