RESUTTANO

Resuttano is a city in the province of Caltanissetta, located at 600m a.s.l. on the right branch of the lower Imera river. It totals some 3,100 inhabitants.

It was founded by Giuseppe di Natoli in 1625 and ruled by his descendants as far as the Feudalism abolishment in 1812.

Its best attractions are the 1700’s Chiesa Madre dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, the Chiesa delle Anime Sante and, above all, a ruined castle. Incorporated in a 1800’s farm, this structure has a charming location along the Imera river. It belonged to the Ventimiglias and subsequently to the Duke of Campobello Giuseppe di Napoli.
