MUSSOMELI

Nestled atop a hill, in an extremely scenic location, the city of Mussomeli is characterized by narrow streets and houses jostled with one another. Behind the city, on a rock, rises the Castello Manfredonico.

At the heart of the town stand the Mother Church, refurbished in the 17^th century, and, few distant, the 1500’s Santuario della Madonna dei Miracoli made of white calcareous stone. Its portal is embellished by two fine twisted columns.

THE CITY SURROUNDINGS

Castronuovo di Sicilia – Located some 30km north-west. It is a picturesque village comprised of a collection of stone houses. The little central piazza hosts the Mother Church dedicated to the Holy Trinity, dated 1404, with a fine bell-tower.
