MONTEVAGO

Montevago, stands at 394m asl in the province of Agrigento and totals some 3,400 inhabitants. In proximity to the town’s heart are remnants of the ancient city founded by aristocratic Rutilio Xirotta in 1636. The ancient city, laid out on an orthogonal grid grown around a main square, was destroyed by an earthquake in 1693.
